S.S Summary

Today we learned about the Moors and the glory of Andalus. There was a woman who wore transparent clothes and she was a poet. She would enter in competitions and she would win most of them. She also put her reasons for why she did things the way she did in her poems. There was a man who had mastered the books that the Romans left behind. He shared what he had learned from the books with the people and they didn't like the idea that some things happened naturally and not by the act of God. He also had medicine, his idea for it was so that people would take better care of themselves and their health. They started to use water for things like pools, so they made a huge pool and they would make peace gardens in which there would be roses and oranges and other plants that they would bring from other places. There were also carvings in the walls that had a meaning. For example the stars on the ceiling meant heaven.
