The day sadly came where they were packing to move to town. Before they left Billy went and said goodbye to his dogs. And when he gets there he sees a red fern. He is amazed and calls his mother to come see. They are all blown away by it. But they must be on their way to town. Billy is grown and still hasn't gone back since but wishes he could. That is the story of "Where the red fern grows".
