cooking

For cooking this week I was assigned to do it on the birthday cake I made. I made a cheesecake, and we started with the crust. It was the easiest part of the cake. We had to crush up oreos and put them with butter and sugar. Then we sorted through the black berrys and picked out the good one for the design in the middle. For the blackberry sauce we let it cook on the stove until the black berrys were separated, once they were gone i drained them. When we made the filling the crust was cooking in the oven. Once the filling and the crust was done we poured the mixture into the pan and then put the blackberry sauce on the top. I used a knife to make a design. We filled up a pan with about an inch of water and put the cake in there. We left it in the oven for an hour and twenty minutes, then we cracked the oven and let it cool for two hours. When it was cooled we put it in the fridge overnight. When we took it out the top was cracked, and the bottom was sticky which made the cake really hard to get off the pan,(that was the hardest part of the cake). Once it was cut I decorated it and served it.  Everybody liked some and just thought it was too sweet.
